‘Baby Yoda’ Coming to Build-A-Bear

Baby Yoda is coming to a Build-A-Bear near you soon. And it’s about time!

The news was announced by Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John during a presentation at an investor conference in Orlando, Florida. “I’m excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” said Sharon Price John. “We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”

She added that Build-A-Bear, Disney, and Lucasfilm are working quickly to bring Baby Yoda to stores as soon as possible. An official date still has not been announced, however, the Build-A-Bear CEO said their Baby Yoda product will beat other official products to market.

No price has been announced yet, but we expect the price to be in the similar range of other plushies at Build-A-Bear. The plush Baby Yoda will certainly cost less than the actual puppet used on The Mandalorian, which purportedly cost $5 million to create.

BABY YODA WILL BE INVADING STORES THIS SPRING

Disney Stores will begin offering an 11-inch Baby Yoda plush in late-April. The date was already pushed back once, so who knows. You can preorder The Child on Disney Store’s site now, but it’s limited to one per customer, which should give you an idea of the demand at Build-A-Bear when Baby Yoda hits their shelves.

Also, Hasbro is in production on a talking Baby Yoda that is expected to arrive in May. Hasbro’s The Child comes with a bone broth bowl, and Sorgan frog. We supposed both can be fed to Baby Yoda when he gets hungry.

BABY YODA HAS A NAME

Taika Waititi recently confirmed to the New York Times that The Child has a name, which will be revealed in Season 2 of the Mandalorian. Showrunner Jon Favreau went a step further to dispel rumors that ‘Baby Yoda’ is some sort of reincarnation of Master Yoda in an interview with USA Today.

Well, whatever The Child’s name ends up being, one thing we know for sure is to expect long lines when it finally arrives at Build-A-Bear stores.
