Warp Gate News has several updates to report on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is dropping this fall on the Disney+ streaming service. The series continues the adventures of Captain America’s BBFs, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the title characters.
GHOST JOINING FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER?
Hannah John-Kamen, who played Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp, suggested last year that her character could return to the MCU. It’s seems likely that Ghost may join The Falcon and the Winter Soldier due to John-Kamen being spotted during recent filming for the Marvel show in Atlanta. There’s no news yet about how big of a part she might play. Since the first season is only six episodes, the story and character development will need to be really tight.
Several other roles have been confirmed including baddie Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo (who appeared Captain America: Civil War), and Emily VanCamp as Peggy Carter’s niece Sharon Carter (who also appeared in Civil War and Captain America: Winter Soldier.)
A new addition to the series, but part of the Marvel comicbook universe since 1986, is John Walker, played by Wyatt Russell. Yes, that Wyatt Russell from the horror movie Overlord and Lodge 49 on AMC. In the comics, John Walker was a successor to the original Captain American, Steve Rogers.
PRODUCTION DELAYED
Filming for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had to be put on hold due to the major earthquakes in Puerto Rico. Filming was scheduled for two weeks in Puerto Rico. Depending on the locations being used for filming, they may need to move production to a new location.
Disney originally announced the show would premiere in the summer of 2020. Then they moved the date to this fall. With the production interruption, we wonder if they’ll still hit the fall mark.
NEW IMAGE FROM SET
Sebastian Stan posted an Instagram image below of him on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier set. There’s not a lot we can tell about the photo, but he looks cool. As more photos from the show are released, we’ll make sure to share them.
