Fortnite’s Rarest Item is Gone; Champion Series Returns in August

The rarest item in Fortnite’s Season 3 has been removed. The Golden Mushroom provides a player with a 100 shield, but the spawn rate is .01%. Needless to say, the Golden Mushroom is not easy to find, but it’s worth the hunt.

The problem is some players who are lucky enough to find the elusive Golden Mushroom have not been able to pick it up. Epic likely removed the rare item temporarily to fix the glitch and will add it back later. Epic employed a hotfix across all Fortnite gaming platforms to remove the glitchy shroom.

Epic Games removed the Golden Mushroom from Fortnite
Wow. I found the rare Golden Mushroom. If only I could pick it up.

Epic Games hasn’t said when the Golden Mushroom will return or even acknowledge that the mushroom has been removed. While the item is not the most powerful item in the game, players can stack up to three mushrooms, so it could be a useful defense. If you can find three of them in a match, that is. Apparently Epic thinks it’s doable.
