Lego is making more than 13,000 medical face shields a day for healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID pandemic. The company recently announced the news via their Lego Instagram account.
Lego said, “This week we began to make visors at our factory in Billund for healthcare workers on the frontline in Denmark. We are so incredibly proud of the team who made this happen. They worked around the clock to create designs and make moulds that can produce more than 13,000 visors a day. We are grateful to have such talented, dedicated and caring colleagues.”
More than 100 Lego employees have been working, some around the clock, to produce the medical face visors. In a video posted to Twitter, Lego said if demand for the visors increases, they could ramp up to produce 58,000 daily. The plan is to expand production of the medical face shields to other Lego production facilities around the world.

Lego’s Instagram post also showed photos of their employees producing the face visors. The post has nearly 76,000 likes at time of the posting of this article.

Lego announced they are donating 500,000 Lego building sets to needy children. Lego joined the trend of making rainbows as symbol of hope during this difficult time. Lego is challenging brick builders to create rainbows and share pictures via social media. You can see the post below.
