Yo, Joe! G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero now on YouTube

Hasbro released full episodes of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero on YouTube for free! The first 15 episodes of the popular 1980s animated show were recently uploaded to Hasbro’s YouTube channel. Hasbro conveniently created a G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero playlist so you don’t need to search through their prolific channel to find the episodes.

Based on the popular action toy line by Hasbro, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero ran from 1983 to 1986. In the UK, the show’s title was Action Force. Sunbow Productions wrote the scripts, Marvel Productions drew the storyboards, and the animation was produced by Toei Animation.

The show started as a five-part mini-series first broadcast in 1983. In 1985, G.I. Joe: A Real American Herowas produced as a full season with 55 episodes. A second season gave fans 30 more episodes. A feature film titled G.I. Joe: The Movie was released in 1987, which continued story lines from the second season.

Marvel Productions continued to produce the popular animated commercials for Hasbro, but a third season was nixed due to animation studio DiC picking up the license for the series. DiC went on to produce their own series, also titled G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, which ran 1989 to 1991. DiC produced two seasons of the show with a total of 44 episodes.
