Marvel’s Black Widow Delayed Indefinitely Due to Coronavirus

Thanos couldn’t defeat the Avengers, but it looks like the Coronavirus is taking down Marvel’s Black Widow, at least for now. Marvel decided to delay the May 1 release date for Black Widow for the foreseeable future. The studio did not announce a new release date. Like the three other Disney films being delayed, Marvel will wait to see how COVID-19 (Coronavirus) impacts the United States and international markets.

Disney already pulled Mulan (March 27), New Mutants (April 3), and Antlers (April 17) from their schedule release dates. The Disney-owned flicks join a growing number of films delayed until the COVID-19 pandemic gets under control, which sadly could be a while.

Health experts are now saying it might not be until 2021 that the COVID-19 pandemic is under control. Oof. 2020 is shaping up to be a real sh*tshow.

Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh star in Marvel's Black Widow.
They say any crash you can walk away from is a good crash.

In addition to Marvel’s Black Widow and the other Disney films, here’s the list of all the other films delayed so far due to the Coronavirus pandemic:

  • A Quiet Place Part II (March 20)
  • Blue Story (March 20)
  • F9 (May 22)
  • The Lovebirds (April 2)
  • Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (April 2)
  • No Time to Die (April 10)

How long the studios can continue to push out release dates remains to be seen. 2020 might go down as the “straight-to-video” year.
