How to Watch The Clone Wars the Right Way

We’re about two weeks out from the premiere of Season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Disney+, so there’s still time to binge-watch the first six seasons. To do it right, you need to watch in chronological order. Not in episode broadcast order. Definitely, not.

George Lucas meant The Clone Wars to be an anthology show with character stories and arcs occurring during the duration of the war, but not necessarily in chronological order. For viewers, The Clone Wars narrative is fragmented from the get-go, and becomes increasingly confusing as the series unfolds. For example, when a character is killed off, but then shows up in a later episode, it makes you doubt your sanity.

The good news is the folks over at Lucasfilm put together a list of the episodes (and movie) in sequential order. It will mean skipping back and forth between seasons on Disney+ or worse—Blu-ray discs. The extra work will be worth it to watch The Clone Wars in an order that doesn’t make your brain hurt.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars drops on Disney+ on February 21. The final season will have 12 episodes to be released weekly. Season 7 will include several story arcs—the most poignant being the Siege of Mandalorian.
