The first season of Harley Quinn on DC Universe is coming to DVD in June
Harley Quinn: The Complete First Season DVD set drops on June 2.

The critically acclaimed series starring Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) as Harley, has a Rotten Tomato score of 86%. Harley Quinn has long been a fan favorite comic book character. However, Harley’s introduction to the world of DC superheroes actually happened on TV in Batman: The Animated Series in the 1990s. The character was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, showrunners for the Batman series.

From her humble beginning as the Joker’s delightful and deranged sidekick, Harley Quinn is now one of the top selling comic book characters and a symbol for female empowerment.

We got a glimpse of Harley’s empowerment in Batman: The Animated Series with her fraying relationship with the Joker and growing sisterhood with Poison Ivy. Now Harley is a full-on paragon of female empowerment.

Harley Quinn in Batman the Animated Series
Harley, you’ve come a long way, Baby!

Her eponymous show on DC Universe still has Harley’s cutesy style, but the vulgarity meter is off the chart. This is DEFINITELY NOT a kid’s show. The Harley Quinn series is more in line with the R-rated, over-the-top violence and language in the Birds of Prey movie, but even more batshit crazy.

If you don’t have the patience to wait for the DVD set to drop, you can sign up for DC Universe for $7.99 per month or $74.99 per year (20% discount vs. monthly). A seven-day free trial is available. You also have the option to buy the digital series on most VOD sites including Amazon, Apple, Vudu, Google Play, etc.

And now, the trailer for Season 2 of Harley Quinn.
